1. How to Turn "ActiveX Filtering" On in IE9, IE10, and IE11

Click on the Gear icon, located in the upper right hand corner of your browser window. When the drop-down menu appears, hover your mouse cursor over the Safety option. When the sub-menu appears, locate the option labeled ActiveX Filtering. If there is a check mark next to the name, as shown in the example above, then ActiveX Filtering is already enabled. If not, click on the option to enable it.

In IE9, IE10, or IE11, click/tap on Tools on the Menu bar, and go to step 3 or 4 below. (see screenshot below)

To Turn On Active X Filtering in IE9, IE10, or IE11

 

Click/tap on ActiveX Filtering to check it, then refresh (F5) IE to apply. (see screenshots above

Enabling Active X for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0

1.     Click Tools then Internet Options.

2.     Click Security.

3.     Click Internet.

4.     Click Custom Level.

5.     Scroll to the Active X controls and plug-ins and verify that the options are set to Enable or Prompt.

6.     Scroll to the Scripting Section and verify that Active Scripting is set to Enable or Prompt.
NOTE: Clicking a checked box removes the checkmark and disables the feature.
If you see checkmarks in the Enable or Prompt boxes, do not click on the checked boxes.

7.     Click OK.

8.     Click OK.

Enabling Active X for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0

1.     Click Tools then Internet Options.

2.     Click Security.

3.     Click Internet.

4.     Click Custom Level.

5.     Scroll to Active X controls and plug-ins.

6.     Click Enable next to Download signed ActiveX controls.

7.     Click Enable next to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins.

8.     Click Enable next to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting.

9.     Click OK to close the Security Settings window.

10.   Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

11.   Close and reopen Internet Explorer.

Enabling Active X for Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0

1.     Click Tools then Internet Options.

2.     Click Security.

3.     Click Internet.

4.     Click Custom Level.

5.     Scroll to Active X controls and plug-ins.

6.     Click Enable next to Download signed ActiveX controls.

7.     Click Enable next to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins.

8.     Click Enable next to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting.

9.     Click OK to close the Security Settings window.

10.   Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

11.   Close and reopen Internet Explorer.

2. How to Clear Browser Cache

Internet Explorer

  • Click Tools from the Internet Explorer menu bar
  • Click Internet Options
  • Click the General tab
  • Click the Delete Files button in the Temporary Internet files section
  • If you still have a problem, repeat the steps above and restart the computer.

Firefox- Windows

  • Click Edit on Firefox menu bar
  • Click Preferences on the Edit menu
  • Expand the Advanced menu by clicking the plus sign
  • Click Cache
  • Click the Clear Cache button
  • Restart the browser

Firefox- Mac

  • Click History on the Firefox menu bar
  • Click Clear Recent History
  • Select Everything for the time range
  • Check the box next to Cache
  • Click the Clear Now button
  • Restart the browser

Chrome- Windows

  • Click the wrench icon on browser tool bar
  • Select Tools
  • Select Clear browsing data
  • In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove
  • Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
  • Click Clear browsing data
  • Restart the browser

Chrome- Mac

  • Click Chrome on the menu bar
  • Click Preferences
  • Click Show advanced settings
  • Click the Clear browsing data button
  • Select the beginning of time from the dropdown box
  • Check the box next to Empty the cache
  • Click the Clear browsing data button
  • Restart the browser

Safari

  • From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari
  • From the menu, check the items you want to reset, and then click Reset. As of Safari 5.1, Remove all website data removes both cookies and cache.
  • Restart the browser

Opera

  • Click Edit on the Opera menubar
  • Click Preferences on the File menu
  • Click the History and Cache menu
  • Click Cache
  • Click ok to close the Preferences menu
  • Restart the browser
